This past week Abby & I had the pleasure of having the house alllll to ourselves. It rocked.
I mean, you don't ever really need an excuse to do cheesy summer activities, but for some reason we found our solitude to be the perfect occasion to whip out the classics.
Speaking of classics:
We found a sack full of our old VHS tapes, and proceeded to watch W A Y too many disney movies
... oh wait. that's not possible

classic picnic in the park

classic bike ride at 6:00 am

classic burning our dinner because we are children who don't know how to fend for ourselves

classic mirror selfie while sorting through my clothes
Our week was quite fun. We went to a church barbecue on saturday, invited other parent-less children to dinner on sunday, went to a outdoor performance on monday, shopped for clothes "groceries" on tuesday, and ended with a splash at the beach on wednesday.
Soon enough my parents returned from their little vay-cay in Canada, and our week of freedom came to an end.
Post-vacation syndrome is a very real illness. Lack of desire to unpack, frowning at your now-empty wallet - it can be difficult to recover. Despite the fact that my sister and I didn't actually leave our house, it cannot be denied that all members of our family felt a little out of sorts. So, to make up for our loss we bought a new car!
jk, jk
We are leasing a new car. Our family prides itself on never ever having bought a brand new vehicle, but since our other modes of transportation have been breaking down so much lately, we decided a compromise was in order.
On our first ever family drive in our first ever new car we headed out for froyo - in the middle of our icecream run it started P O U R I N G.

ya know, that was okay because:
a) I love rain
b) we still got icecream
c) it made the new-car smell that much better
